Preamble

RSYN RESEARCH LLP recognizes the critical importance of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) in addressing the global challenges of poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. As an academic publisher, RSYN is committed to integrating sustainability and global impact into its publishing practices.

Purpose

This policy outlines RSYN RESEARCH LLP's strategic commitment to promoting and contributing to the achievement of the UNSDGs through scholarly publishing, partnerships, and public engagement.

Scope

This policy applies to all RSYN journals, editorial boards, authors, reviewers, readers, and stakeholders engaged in the publication, dissemination, and promotion of scientific knowledge.

Objectives

  • To actively encourage research aligned with one or more of the UNSDGs.
  • To foster interdisciplinary and solution-oriented scholarship that addresses global challenges.
  • To provide equitable access to knowledge, especially for underserved communities.
  • To promote sustainable practices in academic publishing.

Strategic Actions

Thematic Focus on SDGs

  • Launch special issues and calls for papers dedicated to SDG-relevant topics such as clean water, renewable energy, sustainable cities, and public health.
  • Require authors to declare how their work aligns with specific SDGs during submission.
  • Maintain a section in each journal issue highlighting SDG-mapped articles to increase visibility and policy impact.

Open Access and Knowledge Equity

  • Promote open access to research outputs to maximize global reach and impact.
  • Offer waivers and support for authors from low- and middle-income countries.

Ethical Publishing and Integrity

  • Maintain rigorous peer review processes and uphold research integrity and transparency.
  • Address issues related to misinformation and promote reproducible science.

Partnerships and Capacity Building

  • Collaborate with academic institutions, NGOs, and policy-making bodies on SDG-related dissemination projects.
  • Conduct author workshops, mentorship programs, and training on SDG-relevant research and writing.

Environmentally Responsible Publishing

  • Minimize the use of paper by promoting digital workflows and e-publishing.
  • Reduce the carbon footprint of editorial and production activities.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • RSYN will periodically review and report its progress in supporting the SDGs.
  • Develop SDG-tagged metadata to track contributions across the 17 goals.
  • Publish annual summaries of SDG-mapped articles and their impact indicators.

Governance and Implementation

  • The Editorial Board and SDG Advisory Group will oversee the implementation of this policy.
  • Regular policy reviews will ensure alignment with global standards and institutional practices.

Review Cycle

This policy shall be reviewed every two years or as needed to incorporate new developments and align with the latest UNSDG strategies.
